Not to steal this post, but a buddy of mine had a 1970 Challenger 440 car. The dash tag matched the title and door decal. Something like JS23U0B187050 (not sure of the last 4 numbers). HOWEVER, the fender tag number was JS23U0B207050 and the body numbers were 0B207050. Thats right. The first 2 digits of the sequence number were "18XXXX" on the title, dash & door tag, and "20XXXX" on the fender tag and body numbers. The last 4 digits of the sequense and all other numbers match. The body had all the right parts for a 440 E-body including 3/8 fuel line, etc. unfortunately no build sheet or matching engine or trans. Car was original from what I could see. Is this a possible factory screw up?

SOUNDS JUST LIKE MINE

No it doesn't.. Yours is a 67 & the numbers aren't supposed to match.. That didn't start till 69 like has been posted above..

A 70 Challenger should match the numbers not matching could raise flags but I wonder if his recollection is off a little bit because if the VIN reads JS23U0B207050 & the body stamping reads B0207050 instead of 0B207050 that is normal....

Yeah, I think maybe you are right. The point is the last 6 digits. 187050 vs. 207050. Car looks all original. What are the chances of finding a 70 challenger to rebody with all the right parts and the same color, and the same last 4 vin digits?
