I was sold a pitman arm off a later B-body and was told it would work. I couldn't even get the thing to fit...it bolted to the box but that was it. Jack the car up and get under it. Then have somebody work the wheel and look at the travel. If it looks like the arm is causing the bind, swap it out. But be fore-warned, pitman arms aren't cheap!
