1970 Bee... I know, I know... some will say "why?"

The good repro glass only comes in the hard top version, and truth be told I like the hard top better - like to roll the windows down. I need new side glass, so...

What would it precisely entail to make the conversion? It should be pretty easily reversible, right? I could drill at the spot welds to remove the posts and buy the rear window mechanisms/handles/windows and be done? I suppose the rear interior panels are different? Anyone done this?

Is this a dumb idea? How much structural support would I lose (I would imagine it is negligible). My car is one of 1336 4 speed 383 post cars... it seems that the hard tops are more desirable anyway, so it shouldn't really hurt the value, right?
