i have a couple questions about the 3 & 4 Speed Manual Transmissions.

A Smallblock A-Body with a 3 Speed Manual has the same body hump, bellhousing and tailshaft like the 4-Speed cars, right ?
Or are the parts different to the 4 Speed cars ?

If i would swap the 3-speed to a 4-speed, i can use the tailshaft from the 3-speed, right ?


Is for a smallblock A-Body, a manual 4-speed trans with iron housing or a trans with aluminium housing better ?

The aluminium housing would be better i think because the reduced weight from the trans.
Or is a iron housing better, because its stronger like the aluminium housing.
