I just finished up a magazine article for Popular Hot Rodding that used the HR292 cam in my 505 motor. I used the Comp lifters as well as 1.60 rocker arms and Comp beehive springs. Motor ran great and made more than 600 hp with the CH-28 dual quad intake.
The HR292 is a nice cam in a 500 inch motor. It has a healthy idle but it should be fine for street driving. With the CH-28 it pulled hard to 6000 rpm and then it was all done.
Cam button, bronze gear, roller lifters, good springs, etc. add money to the build. It probably costs an extra $500 to build a hyd roller motor over a flat tappet cam motor.
