valvoline vr1 racing oil has zinc in it....should be available at your local parts store.

Valvoline VR1: Contains 75% higher zinc than SM motor oil with a balanced additive package designed to work in both racing and street-legal applications. This product will protect older style push-rod and flat tappet engines. Valvoline provides this product in both multi and mono viscosity grades: 20w50, straight 50, 10w30, straight 30, straight 40, and straight 60.

Valvoline does sell an oil that has the significant zinc level. The above oil is not it. Its as simple as this, if any oil has an API rating of SM, by regs it cant have more than a certain PPM of zinc. The oil that Valvoline sells that does have the zinc is marked "Not for street use" on it and does not have a API rating.

To the OP, did you coat the cam and lifters with lube? Are your inner valve springs pulled out, if applicable? Did you verify that you have lifter rotation? If yes to all 3, get Rotella 10-30 or 15-40. If you cant get the EOS (which GM renamed, and I cant remember the name) from a GM dealer, get a red bottle of STP and you should be good to go.
