I'm building an old school gasser type 51 Henry J, just installing the rear end and suspension, a ladder bar setup with coilover gas shocks. The shocks are about 16 inches long and will either have to be mounted up high where I want my fuel tank and battery to go, or laid back at an angle of about 25 degrees. I have a set of monroe air shocks that would fit perfect, and make my ride height easily adjustable. I remember when air shocks were cool they were really just an easy way to clear oversize tires, but would they work for this? Or should I just keep trying to figure out a way to use the coilovers?
