We have used 2-8volt batteries in series for over 10 years in our SS cars, they are light (about 70 lbs for the pair vs 84 for a pair of Turbostarts), cheap (about $120 for the pair), change them out after about 5 years, readily available at auto parts stores and like places.I don't remember the CCA's right now, something around 650-700 each, they are considered a commercial series battery and are generally designed for lots of charge/discharge cycles.
