Cause a Chevy guy ported them and that's what you got to do to make them bowties run
In all reality,I might have been a good thing, the motor was small for the heads... but had the guy actually had a flow bench he might have seen the ports went turbulant about .600 lift
That was about $2k with of "porting" along with valves, springs and seals.
