That's a first.. I've never heard of a Dana equipped auto car unless it was a 4.10 (which wasn't available on Superbirds)

I have a friend here in Houston as well with a 440 4bbl A727 with a Dana. He thought it was original since the previous owner told him it was. After looking at the broadcast sheet, I showed him where it came with a 3.55:1 8.75 rear originally....

My buddies is coded as a 3.55 8.75 also.. But he's the second owner & has known of the bird since new it left the factory this way.. Your buddies might have come that way too...
