That might work on some but.......
It wont matter, it's not the pickup that hits..Its the rod bolt hitting the oil galley boss where the pickup screws in the block...
Atleast thats what hit in mine..Now with 2.2 cranks, they dont come close.
It was probably 2003 when I assembled that particular engine..so its hard to recall some details.
