me too until I bought my 1st Mopar in 1975 a 68 GTX 440 4 sp 4.10 dana convertible! running/driving (only needed a radiator) for $500 & I was instantly hooked. If you are OK w loosing the ammeter you could run an 8ga lead from the batt positive directly over to the alt batt stud w a 12ga fusible link in series to protect it. This takes care of all of the bulkhead issues but I would take out each brass terminal w an eyeglass mini screwdriver & clean em & reinstall. If you need info on getting them out send me a PM
