Like I said, I'm sure that there is many different nicknames for shifting styles, just like for posi units and rear carriers. Posi, Traction Loc, Suregrip, Limited Slip, Pumpkin, Chunk, 3Rd Member, etc. I'm simply explaining what we called it, after someone else brought it up. I do remember my uncle shifting his 68 GTX with a well prepped Hemi box many times; no clutch or lift on 1-2, tap clutch and no lift on 2-3, and no clutch or lift on 3-4. After the vertical gates became popular, it was "Full Monty" on all of them. Brutal on trans, and it helped that he never had todays tires, and he still broke a lot of parts. As for me, I cleaned out 2nd on about my third try at powershifting my 66 T-10 Mustang, and since I didn't have the deep parts bin that he did, I went the more economcal way and did what WE called speedshifting - toe clutch with gas floored, pull handle, repeat as necessary.
