I'm not sure what the pressures would end up like, but with the restriction(oriface tube, txv, whatever your system has...) in there they would be way out to lunch.

It would try to cmpress the low side, and evac th high side, and you end up with a bunch of nothing.

It would be like putting the carb and fuel system on the exhaust side of the motor, and the muffler on top of the intake.. It just won't run like that.

why couldn't it run "backwards"? my house is set up to run the AC in either direction, run it one way, and the hot compressed freon goes outside the house, and the cold expanded freon comes inside the house. this makes the house cold.

flip it around in the winter time...hot compressed freon comes inside the house, cold expanded freon goes outside the house, and heats the house up.

the car system wouldn't work the same way?
