feets OP Senior Management Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 28,067 Irving, TX	The tranny in my 92 Cummins is slipping in OD. I have a spare 518 out of a gas truck that is waiting to go in the hot rod. I tore down the OD section of the spare tranny and it looks good. It's a little later unit judging by the lock up converter and 5 gear OD planetary. The OD section looks great inside. Would it be possible to transfer the steels and clutches from the spare tranny into the truck's tranny? Are there any interchange issues? I haven't torn down the truck yet. I'm on a pretty tight budget so if this will keep it going until I can go through the transmission properly, I'd sure like to do it. I'd love to fix it for the price of a gasket, especially since I would not have to remove the transmission to do so. We are brothers and sisters doing time on the planet for better or worse.
