Just checked a 2 wire Glide solenoid the other day while doing some electrical work on a car. 10 amps, don't recall the make, TCI or Trans Specialties maybe.
I agree with just using a 30 amp fuse or breaker to keep from burning everything up in case of a dead short.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
