When it dies it will still turn over w the key? Under the dash I'd check the various connections in the harness at the ign sw, ammeter, the fuse box etc & pull apart the connectors looking for the wire that is loose/corroded. EDIT if it just only died I'd check the bulkhead 1st but w the dash lights going out also I'd go under the dash
