As for the weight, well the old saying of look for ounces in many places instead of concentrating on pounds in a couple. Cut off any extra bolt sticking out from nuts, extra wiring, plastic headlights, bumper brackets, eliminate anything that is not needed. I mean how many bolts to stock steel fender really need to be held on? Plenty of light brakes out there. Aluminum bolts are another way. Just look at EVERYTHING on the car....




Completely agree with this. Plus - as someone mentioned already - drag race brakes will weigh about 50 lbs less than factory discs - probably 20-30 less than a road race kit - at least. What about replacing your glass front windshield with Pro Glass (Lexan - but really nice). Also - is that a hood hinge I see sticking up? You could go to a dzus fastened hood and lose that hardware. That would also allow you to go to a much lighter fiberglass hood.
