I almost have my 71 scamp done for the 3rd time. for those who arn't familiar with the car, I had restored it first about 4 years ago, then went through an accident involving a roll over 3 years ago, then I restored it yet again and finished it last fall, but I just wasn't happy with it, so out came the motor yet again for a go-over this last winter. also involved was some suspension mods- tubular upper A arms, big sway bars, disc brakes and I have cal-trac bars, but they need installing. the motor use to be stock with only a 4 bbl and duel exhaust, but now sports performer intake, holley 600, hotter cam(can't quite remember the specs) ported 302 heads with heavy duty mp springs, windage tray, headers, electronic ignition, and my tranny made up of a shift kit, 3000 tc and even a line lock. Im still running the stock rear for now (7.25 with 2.76) but I'm in the process of cutting down an 8.75 and I have a 3.91 sure grip to go in! Im also going with a different rim- probably weld pro-stars, but for now I have blacked out ralleys with late model centers. also in the plans is a custom dash cluster and move all of the aftermarkey gauges where I can see them better. I just took these pictures this afternoon when the car finally rolled out of the shop under its own power for the first time with the new set up.
