Ahh, ok, then we're talking too different things. Yes, I agree that the bellcrank on a 6bbl is higher than a 4bbl, hence causing the operational length of the tranny rod to be longer.
What I was referring to was the horizontal rod from the carb throttle lever to the bellcrank. I believe that's an inch shorter and doesn't have the pronounced bend as with the 4bbl version.
So, I guess you've answered my question about the tranny rod, it needs to be longer on a 6bbl. If you can measure it, that would be great.
guess now I need to find someone that has both used for sale or sells a reproduction.
the one from the bellcrank to the carb is different and it is available in reproduction , though you might have to buy a complete kit
