I agree. The track crew worked continuously on that track to keep things going. The track stayed good until late afternoon when the final great flood came and they just had to surrender. The organization of the whole event was exceptional. I am sure that the Ronnie Sox, Jake King and the McCandless family had a good time. Herb, Sr. was wide open,riding the golf cart and walking through the pits shaking hands and talking Mopar drag racing, from early morning to late evening on Saturday, even with the rain. I know that the photographs are long gone from the web site(we still have two cd's of photos) but if you had a chance to see those historic mopar drag cars lined up and to see them go down the track was super. Please do try to re-organize this event, if not at Piedmont, Roxboro Motorsports (Person County Dragway 50th anniversay) would be a great choice.
