I have the usual main stud clearance problem on the main stud by the oil pump. The first person I talked to at ARP said to use bolts in those holes then I was put on hold and another guy told me I could not use bolts since it was align bored. He said to cut down the stud, remove the washer and trim the pump as needed but to be careful not to take too much off the pump. I wish there was a better cure for this but this looks like the only solution. ARP should warn buyers about this problem.

Hey guy's, I just wanted to add a little more info. Last night I trimmed the stud and clearenced the pump about .020 and that was still not enough so I had to trim about two threads off the 12 point stud nut to finally get enough clearence. Also if you use an oil pump gasket it will give a little more clearence as well. Just for the heck of it I cut my old oil pump down to see how much room there was to grind and there really is not that much so I would not take off more than .020".
