i assume they have had a FEA ... I don't. I assume about 25 years ago one of the RAS people saw a diagram for a truss bridge and thought it would be pretty strong if they put a fulcrum on one end and a roller tip on the other. Explain? I don't see how what you mention really applies here nor what problem that creates anyway, that I am missing. Regardless, I would mostly trust FEA. It's a round-about way of saying I don't think the RAS/RAU people are sophisticated enough to have used FEA to design them 25 years ago when I first saw a set
