I received a 5 figure bank wire 30? years ago. It ended up being a contested business transaction in that they had missed our required in writing deadline. I was out of town when it arrived, and when I arrived a week later the senders bank had retracted? the money in full. Seems like they mentioned some "error" or something. I had never heard of such a thing. and have had a wary eye toward bank wires ever since.
Don't know if the rules/laws have changed, but I suspect they like keeping that detail a secret.
