I've had very good experiences ...

We have an outfit named 'Elite Wheels of Albany' that refinishes most any type of rim including club rash damage. They specialize in aluminum rims - www.eliteofalbany.com

They have earned a good reputation, they recently offered a $599 for 4 aluminum rims with a 24 hour turn-around - I don't think that includes significant curb damage.

I've only used them to strip and refinish my magnesium rims, very minor corrections needed.
They did one set of 4 rims finished in enamel, which cost $99 each rim, took 3 weeks.
Then I had them do another set of magnesium rims in epoxy for $660 total, took 6 weeks.
They are now working on a set of 4 + 1 spare, epoxy. I don't really care how long it takes, I don't need them til spring.

Magnesium is a delicate metal to work with, especially old rims with a lot of exposure to contaminants. It takes special prep, sealants, primers to get it right.
They've done a nice job on mine.
