By using my dual point distributor, I can still run a tach drive tachometer & leave the factory wiring intact, just disconnect it & if the MSD unit goes out I can hook it back stock & get it back home on the points & not be stranded.

Either way, it’s still much more difficult to set up a curve without being on the dyno. The programmable stuff is great. But you still need to know what key strokes to make.
