And speaking of Alfred Hitchcock I used to think of him as a horror genius until I heard of Tipi Hedrin God bless her still alive at 93 yo.And her own harrowing experience where Alfred Hitchcock made her shoot for 5 days in a upstairs filled with real seagulls ,crows etc..She was attacked by these birds that all wound up and tossed in the room so some of the blood scene's in those shots may have been real!
