You can install it on the console top plate. Get an extra if you want to keep your original safe.

Otherwise, attach a bracket down the dash frame to install the USB port. This won’t get any interior part hacked. The dash frame gets several provision holes to screw in some bracket, so no extra holes are required. Bracket can be even horizontal to be hidden down the dash frame, not visible like a vertical bracket.

This is a very interesting idea, but still would need to keep the ashtray open.

You could make the same, building a container box for the usb port into the console ahstray though. The console ashtray lid is more discrete so visually don’t disturb like the dash one. Except if your chally got the rear console provision for the seatbelt storaging (earlier models), instead the ashtray.

Sure the ashtray will require some haking, but can get an extra one for that.
