I'm going to guess by the timeframe of the pic (mid to late70's?), it was likely parted and crushed. We have to remember they weren't as special or sought after as they are today. You to mention during the fuel shortages you almost had to give them away.
if anyone had access to Ca. DMV records they could try running the plate #. I'd bet it was salvaged
