I've been around dogs since the 1950s until the mid 80s when my mom's German Sheppard passed away.
I debated on getting another dog recently but never did it.
My son recently got a puppy and since they live nearby, I get to play with him all the time now, the best of all worlds, LOL.
I had forgotten what great animals dogs are. He's a blast.
