On a custom build, I would not waste any money on OEM brake hoses. In general, OEM brake hsoes are the least needed to meet the SAE specs, least cost always precedes best product for the application. Best hose for brakes are Teflon tube stainless steel braid hoses. Many people think the S/S is what makes these hoses good, but for brake fluid its the Teflon tube that is most important. Teflon tube does not, can not, degrade over time and is the most durable against any type of brake fluid. The variety of hose ends available means any decent hydraulic hose distributor can make custom hoses for you. A Parker Store is the retail outlet for Parker hydraulic hose. Not cheap, but very good.

Some people say you cannot use teflon tube stainless steel hydraulic hose for brake systems. Yes you can. The SAE requirements for brake hose are mostly for fluid compatibility, labeling (printed on the hose) and some brake hoses tests (hose whip test, hose end pulloff test, temperature test). The only SAE spec a standard S/S braided hydraulic hose cannot meet is the requirement for DOT labeling on the hose itself. If you want all the specs then buy S/S braid hoses from a supplier like Earls or Russel which will have the DOT labeling on the hose (on a cover over the S/S). Otherwise a S/S braid hydraulic hose will do it all, just without the DOT labeling.
