Check out the Power Distribution Centers under the hood on the 90's Trucks. The earlier Dakotas have smaller boxes and the later trucks have bigger ones. This one is from a 98 van.

Notice the battery cables on the right. This makes it easy to rework the alternator output and keep it all under the hood. No more burned out bulkheads!

Wiring is pretty straight forward and easy to re purpose. Grag as long a hunk of the harness as you can.

The current project is a EFI Magnum swap and major updates on a 70 W200, been doing lots of wiring work!

I picked up a couple of these 10 circuit universals for the W200, to replace the glass tubes. They were only about $14 each, and easy to work with. I plan to use one for battery power and one for switched power. Still planning.

That is a 94 Ram Power Distribution Center in front of the battery.
