I've had a number of GoPros over the years but they don't seem to last very long for me.
The one I have now is the Hero 8 Black model I bought 2 years ago.
I mainly bought it for the 4K video. The reason I did so is the quality of the 4K is so good that you can do a screen capture from the video and it turns out quite well.
The first picture is of my GoPro mounted to the back of my car at Talladega a couple of months ago. I ran an external microphone from the GoPro to the exhaust pipe area to get the sound of the exhaust without the wind noise from the mic in the GoPro. Sound came out pretty good. Suction mount held on even at 160 mph.
The second picture is from when I mounted the GoPro to the car ahead of me to get videos of my car. The second picture is a screen capture from the video. The actual picture looks fantastic on my home computer screen but because of this forums 4mp limit, both pictures don't show well on this site.
Anyway, get the 4K if possible, a second battery and the correct fast SD card that will work with the 4K when you order.
