there was a paper out there at one time showing how to make a long ram into a short ram.
welding was required of course.
the problem these days with buying a setup like that, is [almost] everyone loses the pieces that cover the crossover port in the heads, allowing the intakes to bolt to opposing heads. those parts were just cut out between the bolt holes with a band saw, making the cut pieces unique to each manifold. at one time, there was someone reproducing those pieces and they were slightly oversize, allowing trimming at the bolt holes to fit the manifolds on hand. i don't know if they are still available today.
the balance tubes also somehow disappear as well.
they are a neat induction system.
i wonder how much torque a 500 plus cube engine could make with a short ram setup at, say, 2500 to 4500-5000 rpm, and let the horsepower fall wherever it does.
that might be fun in a 2500lb hotrod with big tires and a 3.23-3.54/3.55 rear gear. [like my "perpetual" project]
