I built my hood out of carbon fiber.. I started out by making a fiberglass hood but I didnt like
how much it moved in the heat(sunny days) so I started saving stuff from work to built a carbon
fiber one.. if you have to buy all the stuff it is very pricey.. no idea what the resin price is now days
but I would guess very pricey.. I laided mine up using vacuum... I didnt weight it but as a guess
carbon is just less than 1/2 the weight and mine is 1 layer thicker than it needed to be.. could have
got the weight down about 1/3.. its stronger than I guessed
