I wouldn't be surprised if someone has tried that with a 124..

Yeah, definitely huge cool factor - esp in Europe.
What I think is particularly sad about almost ALL British cars, the Interceptor too, are the convertibles - the British could never engineer a proper folding mechanism - the entire folding roof sits ON TOP of the rear body, and it looks horrific.

Those were what people called Hybrids back then.. how times change!

Not many have even heard of them... really interesting stuff.
The Ghia 450SS was a single production model from the 60s, only 56 built, on Barracuda S chassis and running gear .
Dual Ghias had a couple generations, beginning in the late 50s. Look up the 1962 Dual Ghia 6.4L, it's pretty weird, but I love it.
Monteverdis are super classy and powerful, from Switzerland. The Hai isn't good looking to me.
Facel Vegas, Bristol, and the Monica 560 are some other Mopar hybrids.
They are all pretty much spectacularly expensive.
I'm sure you know there are Ford and GM hybrids too.

Here's a '62 Facel Vega II.. these could be had with a 383 or 413.
