I never really tried to look for new parts.Used parts were still plentiful,so I used them up.

To clear up any misunderstandings,or maybe I word it incorrectly. I suggested my method 'cause it works. It may be the "longer" way of doing it,but it was easier to handle the power window motor with the whole regulator out of the car, when you unbolt the three bolts holding the motor onto the regulator.I clamp the regulator in my bench vice against the spring so I can re & re the motor with ease--no parts flying off.It is also a good time to grease up all the moving points of the window mechanism/tracks-and door latch.

I tried removing just the motor from the doors before and using vise grips to hold the spring. But some doors have next to no room to work leaving your hands bloodied, and tempers flared.
You can learn something new everyday--including myself.
If somebody can think of a better way,by all means chime in.
