There has got to be a little more to the story than just your ordinary average little meteorite created a huge blast hitting the earth's atmosphere. Meteorites, chunks of asteroids and even human made space debris bigger than the rock in question hit our atmosphere every day.
In fact, I have a 6" meteorite that weighs around 10# here on display at my house and I'm not aware it made headlines when it made its way here?
What was unique about this one that made it explode with such force? Is there an angle where it hit the atmosphere "just right" that created this phenomena?
