I'm putting my 92 CTD dually back together and it's going well, except for the PS of the hood. It sits 1/4-3/8 in high, front to cowl. I lowered it as much as I could, still 1/4-3/8 high. I elongated the slots, still 1/4-3/8 high. The only thing I can come up with is the hinge is worn out. Would that do it? And, in my experience, you can shove a worn hinge down, I can't. It's not hitting or touching anything. I'm thinking about cutting the springs out and pinning the front corners. Any advice on cutting the springs? Thanks guys PS- after looking for replacements I've found that there were 2 styles, coils or clock spring, mine are clock spring. Anybody know why 2 styles?

OK, found the problem and the fix on a Challenger board. Also a common problem on Bs too. There are 3 bolts holding the hinge to the inner fender. 1 in front, 2 toward the firewall. Loosen all 3 bolts and raise the hinge at the front (single) bolt the amount the hood is high. Now, after the front bolt is tightened, raise the front of the hood enough to lower the slots on the rear bolts by the same amount and tighten. That did it. I guess it has to do with how the hood hinge lays in on it's self. Anyway, I'm happy.
