We were hoping that the rescheduled October Date for 2020 would happen, but it's now been cancelled for this year.

DU QUOIN (WSIL) -- The Continental Tire Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin have been postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The event was set for October 9-11 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.

In a statement Monday afternoon, organizers said they're exploring options "to find a viable location for an alternate Street Machine Nationals event later this year."

Registered participants will receive an email with the option to transfer their registration to a 2021 Street Machine Nationals Event or opt for a refund.

Those who purchased tickets to the event online will be refunded automatically within 30 days.

"The staff of the Continental Tire Street Machine Nationals appreciates your patience and support as we work through this unprecedented situation. We look forward to seeing you in DuQuoin in 2021," read the statement.
