OK, the Hughes lifters arrived and the plunger height is taller but a high quality unit. The oil band is wider as well (good thing) and instructions say to NOT soak in oil. We have taken measurements and will have Smith Bros. make shorter ball cup pushrods Monday. Comp 8.71 pushrods with their lifter, we need 8.34. This was a police motor so high idle time we presume. The comp lifters show some mild scuffing so we are checking the lifter bores. Also thinking of adding a PRW shaft/rocker kit up top as using stock shafts ebay used Isky rockers, no roller tip.
