Hm. The basic design looks almost identical to my mid-1990's Craftsman-branded ratcheting jackstands. Never had an issue with them--hopefully the materials are better in my brand-name older stuff...

I have always had bad dreams about accidentally kicking one of those release levers while under the car, so I always put a tire/wheel under the car or a second jackstand to back it up....
