i've thought of that as well cab, but i thought that really applied to very low pressure reading gauges like a fuel pressure unit. i considered this type of coolant temperature gauge as a quick underhood check used with solid mounts. i guess a guy could check the inaccuracy with a temperature gun to see how far off it could be, and use a mental note. [provided i could remember what that "note" was. ]
