If I remember correctly, some scan tools can’t differentiate the cam and crank sensors. Might look at the one down on crank, I usually have a spare one laying around of both sensors just to pop in and try. They are real simple to change on pickups, GC could be harder to get to. Jim.
You are right as I remember in Chrysler training the teacher said sometimes even the PCM cant tell for sure and could set a cam sensor code when the crank sensor may be the problem and vice versa. At the Dealer we would recommend to replace both to be sure it was fixed. Ron
