I totally agree. I had the very same problem with a 9 1/4 rear in my 4X4. It drove me nuts. I replaced the seals several times and even replaced the axle trying to find the problem. I finally found the rear vent had been replaced, by the previous owner, with a bolt. I don't know how I didn't notice it before I did. The strange part was it only leaked on the drivers side. Once I replaced the bolt with the correct vent the problem was fixed for good. That was a first for me but I've never forgotten it. It's worth looking to see if your vent is plugged or if it's even there at all. Good Luck.
