I use 1/4 inch thick 1 inch wide straps with 3/8 bolts, installed with all the weight on them up
A friend of mine found out he could make the front of his drag car raise up equally by moving the clamps behind the rear end housing, I tried it later on my 1969 Dodge dart and that works well also scope
He said to leave the driver side in the stock position and move the passenger side up towards the rear end housing one leaf at a time, mine work best with the passenger side almost directly behind the rear end housing scope
