Most of the newer Chrysler products require a chipped/skim key to let them start and run which usually prevents the theft of the actual car.

Someone who's just breaking in to steal what's visible usually doesn't care if they damage the car, and there are plenty of fast ways to break in that way.

They'll do hundreds of dollars of damage to steal $5 worth of change out of the ash tray. That happened to my ex-brother in law.
