US 30 was the first track I ever raced at, Assumption was the second. Both have Facebook pages full of old pictures and videos.

People are always talking about re-opening 30. Many attempts have been made, but in the end, it is done. In fact, the guy that owns the FB page has finally stated that any more talk of re-opening will be deleted, and the people should support the tracks that are still open so they don't end up like 30 too.

They were trying to re-open Motion a few years ago too. Not sure what happened, but it died on the vine.

I have loads of fond memories from both tracks, but let's be honest. 30 was a craphole, what made it special were the people and the cars.

Coles County has a motto now. It's a picture of a closed track with "If everyone would just bring 1 new person a year to the track we may never have to see this again".
