Hello all, past member, just rejoined as Im getting back into my Mopars, I did a search and found some info on this, but I have to believe that someone has done this. I have 9 1/4 axle out of a 1990 D-150 with 3.54 gears and a new Auburn sure-grip installed, nice and tight and installed in my 1982 D-150 due to the 1990 rusting to the ground and my '82 axle took a crap. Truck is driving and everything is working well, the 82 has the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern with new rotors/hubs on front, and the 1990 axle has 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern, so I dont want to switch rotors to get the big bolt pattern up front, I would like to swap the axle shafts from the 82 axle to the 90 axle so my bolt pattern is the same, I have a ton of 5 on 4.5 pattern wheels to choose from. I know there is a slight difference in length between the two years although I don't know why Dodge did that. Is there anyway to compensate for this, or does it really matter? Has anyone tried to do this? Thanks!!!
