That's how I have rebuilt the half dozen or so that I have done, pretty easy to do.



Some of the aftermarket ones I have done have a larger ring on the inside top of the housing and the coil from one won't seat far enough to crimp the retainer.The O.E.M. coil is 1 3/4. I have a few aftermarket coils that are 1/4" shorter.Another thing I noticed is that the spade connectors are different on some .The complete solenoid is a O.E.M. Dr1114429,the coil is from a DR1114420.Also O.E.M.
